The reunion at the Brandenburg Gate

On October 3rd the BIG GIANT appeared out of the Spree at Humboldtbecken and set off through the government quarter in search of his niece. Meanwhile the LITTLE GIANTESS had walked down the Friedrichstraße towards Checkpoint Charlie and then over to Potsdamer Platz. Together with her ocean-going boat she then returned to Unter den Linden. In the afternoon uncle and niece were finally reunited in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Countless Berliners and guests from all over the world celebrated along with Minister of State for Culture Bernd Neumann, Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit, his colleague from Nantes Jean-Marc Ayrault and Frédéric Mitterand, French Minister of Culture and Communications, “The Berlin Reunion” at the Brandenburg Gate. As the grand finale the LITTLE GIANTESS practically flew across the Brandenburg Gate towards the Pariser Platz, where the GIANTS spent the night.
